Javaid doctor Perwaiz, 69, was arrested by the FBI after receiving a tip from an employee at Chesapeake Hospital, Virginia (USA). On November 15, the man received a detention order until he appeared in court on charges of fraudulently treating health.
The FBI arrest warrant says gynecologist Perwaiz has a long history of voluntarily performing surgery on patients without their knowledge and consent.
Arbitrary removal of the uterus and sterilization of the patient
A prosecutor said that 173 women voiced similar accusations after Dr. Perwaiz was arrested, including denouncing surgeries performed on them that they did not request. An old patient of Perwaiz sued that she could not have children because the two oviductes were "burned". This makes her future natural conception impossible.
Another female victim who had a Pap smear had to undergo treatment because of abnormal test results. In the affidavit, Dr. Perwaiz advised her to have a cervicalectomy without her consent. She just wanted to have an endoscopy and have her ovaries removed.
However, when she woke up, she was shocked to learn that Dr. Perwaiz had surgery to remove the entire cervix. Worse, he even punctured his bladder during surgery which required her to be hospitalized for six days because of sepsis.
Crime for money
On Thursday (November 14, 2019), V. Kathleen Dougherty, an assistant U.S. attorney, told the US District Court that prosecutors heard from 200 others said they have the same experience as the two patients above.
Dr. Perwaiz is currently seeking compensation after being accused of frauds for health care benefit programs.

However, Dr. Perwaiz’s lawyer, Lawrence Woodward, said his client had always received countless emails praising his good qualities and what he had helped them from old patients.
The judge decided to remain perwaiz gynecologist confined in prison until the trial was held because of the severity of the allegations.

Earlier, Perwaiz, a Pakistani-trained man, had faced eight other lawsuits over occupational errors during his 30 years as a doctor. In 1996, he was detained a practice certificate for tax evasion. The exact age of this gynecologist is not known, only between 67 and 69 years old.
Prosecutors said the FBI team found documents in Perwaiz’s office proving he had instructed his "soldiers" to help falsify his date of birth on paper.
