According to CNet , and the US Trade Commission (FTC) have reached an agreement on millions of dollars in penalties because the technology company violates children’s privacy. The deal comes after a FTC investigation of whether the tech giant will protect child data on its platform.

In June, sources said Google faces a huge fine from a video investigation of children . At the same time, YouTube said the company is considering important changes to protect creators and viewers of younger content. This may include transferring all children’s content to the YouTube Kids platform.

According to Post , Google has collected illegal children’s data, violating the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. Currently, the fine has not been confirmed. Both Google and the FTC declined to comment on the information.

Last month, US Senator Ed Markey sent a letter to FTC expressing concerns about content for children on YouTube. At the same time, he also asked the committee "to make YouTube accountable for any illegal activities that affect children, violating what the company committed".

"The personal information of a child can be exploited for years to come. The FTC needs to enforce federal law and act soon to prevent this," Markey wrote in the letter.

The "Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood" campaign also sent a petition to FTC to punish Google. The organization proposes to delete all collected children’s data, and asked for the establishment of a " $ 100 millionfund to produce non-commercial, high-quality content for children".
