After a negative growth of 1.64% in the first quarter of 2019, Thailand’s transport business group forecasts that the country’s export outlook will grow by 1% in the second quarter of 2019.

This is a result of improved economic performance between the US and China, creating opportunities for orders in the second quarter of 2019. Chairman of the Thai Council of Transport Enterprises expects export growth of 3% this year, with an average export turnover of US $ 22 billion / month.

In the first quarter of 2019, export turnover decreased by 1.6% compared to the same period last year to reach US $ 59.98 billion.

Specifically, in February 2019, export turnover increased by 5.9% to USD 21.6 billion. However, if excluding export turnover of oil, gold and weapons products, export turnover will decrease by 4.9% in the month compared to the same period in 2018.

In March 2019, export turnover decreased by 4.9% compared to the same period last year to reach 21.4 billion USD.
