After going down 2-0 in the NBA Finals against the Phoenix Suns, it’s easy to count out the Milwaukee Bucks at this point.

For his part, however, Bucks star Khris Middleton isn’t necessarily in panic mode right now. As a matter of fact, he’s just sent a Kevin Durant-sized warning to Chris Paul and the rest of the Suns as the series swings to Milwaukee for Game 3 and 4.

Middleton was quick to remind everybody how his Bucks overcame a 2-0 deficit against KD and the Nets. Milwaukee has done it before, and they’re looking to achieve a similar feat against the Suns:

“Game 1 in Brooklyn, I think — I forgot how much we lost by. Game 2 we got smacked, embarrassed. A lot of people thought our season was done,” Middleton said, via Jasmine Wimbish of CBS Sports. “We still believed in ourselves. We came back and had an ugly grind-it-out game that we found a way to win. Sometimes it’s not going to be pretty. Sometimes it’s going to be ugly. We just got to find a way to win one game at a time from here on out.”

You have to note, however, that the Nets lost both Kyrie Irving and James Harden in the latter part of that series. Harden was able to take the floor but he clearly was not close to a hundred percent. The Suns, on the other hand, have been relatively healthy thus far and the Bucks face a tougher test against the Western Conference champs.

Nevertheless, Middleton remains confident in his team’s ability. He also believes that having home court advantage will play a key role in their quest for that elusive NBA title:

“I think one is our home crowd, for sure,” Middleton said. “Having that home court or playing on your home court in the playoffs is a huge key. It’s tough to win on the road always and it makes a little bit sweeter to win on road. But having that home court and that home base, home crowd, behind you is huge, just to give you that confidence, that extra burst, that extra energy.”

Game 3 of this series is scheduled for Sunday in a game that the Bucks absolutely have to win.
