Fast-paced campaign

Never has the United States launched such a massive immunization campaign. First 2.9 million doses, released from Pfizer’s two manufacturing institutes in Michigan and Wisconsin on December 13 morning. The vaccine is carried on special trucks and then by plane, for distribution throughout the United States.

According to General Perna, in charge of implementing the COVID-19 vaccination campaign, the COVID-19 vaccine will be shipped to 145 locations across the United States from December 14 to 12. The remainder of the 636 distribution sites selected by US states and territories will receive the vaccine on December 15 and December 16. Every week, Pfizer will make more doses of vaccine available for distribution and use. Within three weeks, the campaign will be able to give the Pfizer vaccine to any health facility in the country.

Health care workers and the elderly in nursing homes will be given priority in the first 2.9 million doses of vaccine given in advance. These vaccines belong to the program "Operation Warp Speed" of the administration of President Donald Trump to accelerate the development and distribution of vaccine COVID-19.

The campaign requires huge logistics means because it has to race against time, the United States is vastly spread across many time zones and especially Pfizer’s vaccines need to be stored at -70 degrees Celsius. Two private companies FedEx and UPS are responsible for shipping and distribution and will be supported by the military when needed, such as in the case of traffic congestion or bad weather delay deliveries. All trucks are equipped with a GPS navigation system to monitor each step of the distribution work and solve any problems if any.

Previously, on December 11, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the use of the COVID-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer and its partner BioNTech (Germany). It was the first COVID -19 vaccine to be approved in the US, making the United States the sixth country to approve the vaccine for mass vaccination (after the UK, Bahrain and Canada, Saudi Arabia and Mexico). However, the United States will be the most populous country to vaccinate COVID-19 with the Pfizer vaccine. Opening the "COVID-19 Vaccine Door" is expected to bring light to help America and the world overcome the pandemic.

The vaccine packaging and other preparations have been started at Pfizer’s headquarters in Midwestern, Michigan, for shipping, the FDA official said.

It is expected that on December 17, the FDA will convene a meeting of the Council so that experts can evaluate the introduction of another vaccine made by Moderna into emergency use. If this goes well, it is expected that about 40 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine made by Pfizer and Moderna will be distributed across the US by the end of December 2020.

America is still the largest epidemic zone in the world

As of December 17, the world had more than 72.5 million cases of COVD-19, of which over 1.61 million cases of cancer. America; signed an executive order that required all residents to wear masks in public and reopen most schools.

“My first 100 days will not help end the COVID-19 pandemic. I can’t make any promises about this either ... We can’t get out of this mess quickly, it takes time. However, I fully believe that, in those 100 days, we can change the trend of the epidemic and change the lives of the American people in a better way ”- Mr. J. Biden said.
