According to Neowin , a few months ago, Google officially introduced the ability to use an Android phone as a physical security key to log in to websites and services on the desktop using Chrome browser. This feature works via Bluetooth connection, requiring two devices to be side by side to log in.
Now, Google announces that users can use their Android phones to log in to apps and services on iPhone and iPad, providing an extra layer of security on the platform. Unlike desktop links, based on Chrome browser to verify user identity, it will verify two steps on iOS using the Smart Key application. This is handy if the user logs in to these services through applications instead of the browser.
To set up a security key, users will need to add a Google account to their Android device and then access the two-step smart settings of the account on the web to turn the phone into a security key. Then, to log in to iOS, users will need to turn on Bluetooth on both devices, log in with Smart Key application on iOS and then confirm that they are using Android phones.
