For example, the price of live hog in Phu Tho and Tuyen Quang is only 29,000 VND / kg, Thai Binh is 31,000 VND / kg and Yen Bai and Lao Cai are 32,000 VND / kg.
Other provinces such as Hung Yen, Hanoi, Thai Nguyen, Ha Nam, Vinh Phuc and Nam Dinh, prices of live hogs are also around VND 28,000-31,000 / kg, or VND 5,000 / kg lower than April.

Ms. Thom said, compared to the previous week, the price of live hog has increased by about VND 10,000 / kg. At present, the merchants drive to the camp to buy with the price of 35,000-36,000 VND / kg.
“My family raised 300 meat pigs, a week ago the pigs were about to get out of the barn but the traders only paid 24,000-26,000 VND / kg. My wife and I were teary because selling at that price was heavy. Fortunately, the price reversal increased sharply. If you sell now, you will be able to get a loss, even if you get a little profit, ”Thom said.
Similarly, Mr. Doan Van Tan - owner of a farm of 300 sows and 1,500 pigs of meat in Me Linh (Hanoi) - is also pleased to announce that the price of live hog at his farm is being paid by traders by 38,000-39,000 VND / kg. . “On this occasion, I only have about 250 children to go to the market. Selling this price also removed a little gauze, but in May, just sold a few hundred but the price was only 24,000 VND / kg, ”he shared.
Mr. Vu Van Ky - owner of 600 porkers in Hai Trieu commune (Tien Lu, Hung Yen), announced that the local pig has reached 40,000 VND / kg. This price increases about VND 10,000 / kg compared to the previous few days. More excited is the price increase, traders come to ask to buy, and many households do not have big pigs to sell.
Livestock farmers "hoard goods" waiting for price increase
Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc, a well-known pig trader in Viet Tri (Phu Tho), also acknowledged that pig prices are rising and standing up. At the end of May, the price was only 28,000-30,000 VND / kg, but only one week later, on June 6, the price increased to 35,000-38,000 VND / kg.
“Before that, on average, I needed to buy about 80-110 pigs a day to pour them into the kilns. However, 3 days now, it is not enough to buy one. ” He said that, the price of pigs is rising sharply, going to the camp to buy at high prices that people do not want to sell.
According to him, households are psychologically hoarding goods and waiting for price increase. So, middlemen like him swept across the provinces but still couldn’t afford to buy pigs.
Mr. Tran Van Guoi, a trader buying other pigs in Nam Truc (Nam Dinh), also said that live hog prices are increasing day by day so people want to keep pigs waiting to see the price increase before selling.
“About ten days ago, the farmers kept calling me to talk about buying pigs because they came to the market. But now, on the contrary, I searched all over the region still not being able to get enough pigs to buy. Even, my family came to put down the deposit and now they need to buy it and they will remove it, ”Mr. Guai said.
Some traders said that over the past time, the description of African pigs was raging, and pigs were sick and had to be destroyed so that the supply of scarce people pushed up the price of live pigs.
In fact, according to statistics published by the Department of Animal Health (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), as of June 5, the description of African pigs has been happening in 54 provinces and cities with a total of infected pigs. The disease must be destroyed more than 2.3 million, weighing nearly 136,000 tons, the estimated loss amounted to about VND 3,600 billion.
Accordingly, many industry experts also forecast the price of pig will increase, especially in the last months of the year due to the shortage of source.
