It sounds like the plot of a sci-fi movie, but a group of neuroscientists hopes to develop this "telepathy" within four years, helping to link the human brain. with machines without surgery.

Rice University professor Jacob Robinson, head of research at America’s Advanced Defense Research Project (DARPA), said the direct interaction protocol between brain signals with an external device ( BCI) will help the device to remotely control cyber defense systems as well as unmanned vehicles without moving a finger.

The device works by using both light and magnetic fields to interact with nerve cells reprogrammed in the wearer’s brain. Mr. Robinson stressed the new technology that eliminates the communication delay between thought and action. "Therefore, the idea of communicating with the external environment without the need for additional movement makes the control signal transfer to external devices faster," said Robinson.

DARPA expects to start experimenting with drone control technology in the next 4 years. However, Professor Robinson admitted that he was concerned about the technology if successfully developed that there is a risk of misuse. Mr. Robinson believes that in 10-20 years, BCI will be available in the civil market. Control technology, brain reading become the focus of research and development of DARPA in recent years.

In February, the Pentagon announced it was ready to accept a proposal to study "new generation brain technology" from experts, to help advance pre-existing neuroscience research. The agency put a lot of effort into studying brain-related technologies since 2013 with a project called BRAIN (Brain Research through Advanced Neurological Technologies), including several programs for progress revolutionary set in neuroscience.
