According to Juan Jose Garcia, a researcher at the Center for Research in Parasites and Vectors (CEPAVE), "Heavy rains caused flooding, which created large puddles of standing water, creating conditions for mosquitoes to lay eggs."

Mr. Juan added that the number of insects born at the same time is out of control, also affecting human life. They can interfere with farming activities, but pose little threat to human life, because the mosquito swarm will soon disappear after 15 days.
