Alex Schiffer of The Athletic reports that Tucker’s name has “come up a lot” with regards to the Nets’ offseason targets. The 36-year-old veteran was a key piece for the Bucks and their recent conquest for the NBA title, and with Tucker expected to enter free agency in the summer, it looks like the Nets are one of the teams that will be vying for his signature.
Tucker and Durant were involved in a highly-publicized spat during the Nets’ second-round series against the Bucks. At one point, the pair got so heated that they almost came to blows on the court, with Durant’s own bodyguard infamously rushing the court to confront Tucker. Despite their on-court altercation, Durant and Tucker are actually pretty tight. Tucker is also good friends with James Harden, and he also enjoyed his time with the Houston Rockets playing under Mike D’Antoni.
At this point, however, the Bucks are still in pole position in the Tucker race. After all, they just won an NBA title, and it is clear that Tucker is enjoying life in Milwaukee. Then again, you can never rule out a sensational move to the Nets for Tucker.
