Deep in the vast Taklamakan Desert with high sand dunes in Xinjiang, China is the cool Tarim River, despite the harsh weather. It is also the longest inland river of China, stretching 1,321 km along the Tarim Basin.

But what is most interesting to visitors is the largest red-leaf forest road covering more than 200,000 hectares of area.

Thanks to the mud of the river, it has nourished many shady trees in the summer, brilliant in the autumn, turning the arid, harsh desert into one of the great destinations of domestic and foreign tourists.

Along the long asphalt road is a beautiful orange-yellow color of thousands of red-leafed trees creating a wonderful picture that attracts a large number of visitors to visit, admire and enjoy.

Page Chinadaily said, the most ideal time to travel here is autumn, when the scenery is even more vibrant with poetic yellow under the calm autumn sky.

According to the CGTN channel, the tree belongs to the Chi Duong family, known as "living fossils" because they can "live for thousands of years, and stand up for thousands of years even after death or immortality." Local people also consider them to be sacred trees.
