The British auto industry revealed its new car sales dropped by 97% in April to its lowest level since 1946.

According to the latest survey of IHS Markit, the purchasing index (PMI) in the UK dropped to 13.4 in April, the lowest level since 1996. The previous record was 40.1 recorded in the competition. economic crisis in 2018. 

"April’s PMI data shows that the recession in the UK economy in the second quarter will be more serious and widespread than anything we’ve seen in the past," said IHS Markit economist Tim Moore.
