Wave is the name of the wavy mountains located on the slopes of Coyote Buttes. This is the boundary between Arizona and Utah, the southwestern United States. Although it has existed for a long time, it was not until the 1990s that Mount Wave became truly popular.

The wave consists of large U-shaped basins. They were created some 190 million years ago, in the early Jurassic period, when Navajo sandstone plates were eroded. This Navajo sandstone formation has 2 main troughs. Initially, the flow eroded sandstone. After that, the wind continued the erosion process. Photo: Utah.

This is said to be one of the most spectacular geological wonders on the planet. Over 190 million years, groundwater seeped into sandstone, carrying various minerals such as iron oxide, manganese and hematite. These minerals unite individual sand particles together and give them vibrant colors. Water and wind combined with geological formations have created Wave ridge with mysterious caves and crevices. To admire this unique natural wonder, visitors must walk about 5 km. In addition, you must obtain a permit to visit this area. Each day, the area only accepts a maximum of 20 guests divided into 2 visits and prohibits camping. Spring and autumn are an ideal time to explore the magic of nature here. The scene is most spectacular at dawn, dusk and in the night with the starry sky. When the Sun is at its highest and no shadow is the best time to take photos. The most common way to shoot is to stand on high and look down. You can also take funny photos with wavy patterns with cliffs as a background. Photo: Flickr.

Page, Arizona is the closest town to Wave. Here, visitors can book a room to rest and relax. Alternatively, you can choose to stay closer at State Line campground, about 1.6 km from the trail to the Wave. Photo: Pinterest.
