According to the Daily Mail, in the city of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, the man was brought to court for strangling his former lover’s 95-year-old boyfriend.

On January 5, William Hawkins (47) killed one of the nursing home guests - Robert Morell (95).

Robert Morell was taken to a nursing home in September 2019 due to digestive problems and he had to start eating with a straw. According to her former mistress, William Hawkins, 57 (unknown), had an ’open relationship’ with Robert Morell, so she made an appointment with William Hawkins but after a while decided to break up with the latter.

William Hawkins immediately became the main suspect in the murder because his name was on the guest list. In addition, an employee witnessed William Hawkins hurriedly leaving Robert Morell’s room after midnight.

During the investigation, known, on 4/1, William Hawkins went through the window to the bedroom of his ex. In the room, he noticed the needles and insulin vials that she used to treat cats. William Hawkins asked her to kill Robert Morell by injecting insulin through his feeding tube. When denied, William Hawkins stole his car and disappeared. Fearing that her ex might harm her older boyfriend, she called the nursing home and asked him not to enter.

On January 6, police arrested William Hawkins in Fort Pierce for robbing a car and beginning investigating Robert Morell’s death. William Hawkins confirmed to have killed Robert Morell and had long planned.

Currently the court has not issued a formal sentence.
