The latest case involves a 24-year-old Hindu bride abducted by attackers in the middle of her wedding in Hala, a city in Matiari district, Sindh province, about 215 km from Karachi. witnessed by local police, according to Asiantribune.

According to the report, the bride named Bharti Bai was then forced to convert to Islam and married a Muslim man.

Earlier, Bharti was celebrating a marriage with a Hindu man in Hala City when attackers abducted her. 

Mr. Kishore Das, Bharti Bai’s father, said his daughter’s wedding was being celebrated when the kidnapper, Shah Rukh Gul, accompanied some men and the police to take his daughter right in front of the guests.

Later, a photo posted on social media showed that Bharti had converted to Islam and married Shah Rukh Gul.

According to the documents, it seems that Bharti converted to Islam on December 1, 2019 and this may be the reason why she was taken away from the wedding venue.

According to the conversion certificate, Bharti’s new name after conversion was ’Bushra’. According to her marriage certificate, the Muslim man she married is also a resident of Hala. Specifically, the groom Shah Rukh, Nisar Ahmed’s son, is also 24 years old.

Bharti’s family has asked the government to intervene to bring their daughter back and punish the kidnappers of the bride. However, it is reported that Bharti’s parents found out that their daughter’s conversion to Islam had forced her to marry. The news of Bharti’s marriage is thought to have led Shah Rukh Gul to report to the police, saying that Bharti was his wife and was being forced by his parents to marry an illegal Hindu man.
