Kanchana Srisung hired two as‌sassins to shoot at her mother’s chest, Mrs. Ueamduean Srisung, in BuengKum District, Bangkok City, when she was riding her bicycle home on June 22.

The 55-year-old woman was taken to hospital and comatose for more than a month. When she woke up, Ueamduean told everything to the police.

After checking Kanchana’s cell phone, police found the girl contacted, talking to two men about as‌sassinating her mother. They arrested her and two suspects Prachern Krabinrot, 40, and Dao Chaengpradith, 35, on August 10.

At the station, Kanchana claimed to have paid the other two as‌sassins 200,000 baht ($ 6,500) to kill her mother in order to inherit her property and life insurance premiums.

"My boyfriend was in jail for using drugs and I needed his bail. I hired Prachern and Dao for 200,000 baht to kill my mother to inherit the property, because I knew she had three insurance contracts. Life and a piece of land, worth more than 10 million baht, "said Kanchana, now a mother of two,.

Meanwhile Kanchana’s grandmother, Mrs. Pom, said this was not the first time the granddaughter tried to kill her mother.

Ms. Ueamduean, who is currently recovering in the hospital, says forgiving her daughter but will not visit her in prison.

"I didn’t tell the police after the first time she was going to kill her because she hurt her when she made a mistake. But this time I felt unsafe to live in fear of a girl trying to kill. I will let the police do their work, "she said.

Police chief Daoloi Muendej suspects Kanchana is instigated by his lover. "Although Kanchara pleaded guilty, we still need further investigation because she has no criminal record yet. We doubt her boyfriend has forced her to do so," Muendej said.
