Three Vietnamese in Thailand were tied, robbing tens of millions of dong
The robbery happened early in the morning, when all three people, including two women and one male, were sleeping in a room in Samut Sakhon province, more than 45 kilometers from Bangkok. The victims say they have been in Thailand for 6 months to travel and practice their careers.
The three told police that while they were sleeping, they heard the knocking on the door constantly and were quite nervous but still opened the door to see who. The two masked men immediately rushed in and repeatedly asked for another woman’s name.
After answering that the man had left the inn and returned to Vietnam, they were attacked by the bandits, using a knife to intimidate him, to lie on his stomach and tie his hands and feet. These men also used their coats and pillows to cover the heads of the victims so that they could see nothing to avoid identification.
The bandits then ransacked the room, taking away some assets, including cell phones and 60,000 baht in cash, equivalent to VND 45 million. Before escaping, they locked the room so that the victims could not go out.
Thai police are investigating robberies and security cameras, they have identified at least three suspects. Police suspect the bandits are acquainted with the victims and may also be Vietnamese.
