The image of a 100-meter-long Buddha statue was “carved“ on terraced fields in Leshan, Sichuan, China, recently recorded by Xinhua reporter Liu Zhongjun.

The statue is over 100m long, “painted“ and “carved“ on terraced fields in the outskirts of Lac Son city.

Southwest China is known for its giant terraced fields like Nguyen Duong, Nguyen Giang, Hong Ha ... in Yunnan, Guizhou or Sichuan provinces.

The statue was created by "pruning" on the rice fields that are coming in, the daughter, created by the talented farmers here.

Lac Son (ancient name is Gia Chau) is a prefecture-level city in Sichuan Province, China; about 170 km from Chengdu (Sichuan Province) capital. The typical flower of Lac Son is Hai Duong. There are also many Buddha statues carved into the world famous rocky mountains.

The most famous is the 71.2 meter high Lac Lac Buddha, carved in the Tang Dynasty, which is located at the confluence of three rivers, Man Giang, Dai Do and Thanh Y.

The statue is about 3 km from the center of Lac Son district to the east; carved directly into the mountain, sitting face to face with Mount Emei and the river flowing at the foot of the Buddha statue.
